Audi's Cross Coupé quattro concept will be joining Audi’s RS6 Avant and a comprehensive cross-section of the Audi range at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show later this month.

The Cross Coupé quattro combines the dynamics of a compact premium sports car with the spaciousness and versatility of a four-seat SUV.

Painted in "Liquid Silver", its silhouette is classic Audi, and the large 20" wheels help provide the ground clearance required for off-road adventures. The Cross Coupé quattro also features a folding fabric roof that opens up the entire length of the car.

Motorvation is courtesy of a transversely installed four-cylinder inline TDI engine with, common-rail fuel injection and piezo injectors. Fuel economy is extraordinary with a claimed average usage of 5.9 litres per 100km.

The Cross Coupé quattro’s drivetrain features three settings, dynamic, sport and efficiency. When ‘efficiency’ is selected, engine mapping and shift points are modified for economical driving and the system deactivates energy-hungry components such as the air-conditioning compressor.

In addition to the Cross Coupé quattro and the RS6 Avant featuring at the Melbourne Motor Show, Audi will also have their new A4 range and the TTS coupe, fresh from its recent unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
