Its now official and we’ve got the photo gallery to prove it! First details of Aston’s V12 Vantage RS filtered through yesterday after its debut at the opening of Aston Martins new design centre. Yes, it is a concept but as is usual for Aston Martin it is a fully functioning car that has been built to determine public interest in a possible production version – so if your in the market – get interested!

It does feature the 447kW/600bhp 6.0-litre race-derived V12 with its dry sump lubrication system, tuned length exhaust manifolds, forged pistons and steel con-rods, revised lift and duration camshafts and modified cylinder heads. Peak power is achieved at 6250rpm and peak torque of 690Nm is at 5000rpm.

It’s a little slower than first reports have indicated (but still damn quick) with 0-100km/h being taken car of in 4.0 seconds dead according to AM and 160km/h coming up in 8.5 seconds.

The bonnet and boot lid are formed in weight saving carbon fibre along with the new chin spoiler. The rear features a retractable spoiler to aid high speed downforce and there are plenty of louvres to aid engine cooling. The interior is a sea of alcantara.

The only dissapointment is the colour…for such a tough car why did they choose baby blue? Picture it in Silver, Black or British Racing Green and then give Aston a call and make an expression of interest so that this beautiful monster can become a production reality.
