ASTON MARTIN has released a new batch of photos for its stunning DBS Volante, following its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March. At the time, only a series of studio shots had been offered. These new photos offer a glimpse of the Aston droptop in action, out on the road.

The DBS Volante comes with a folding fabric roof which can be stowed in just 14 seconds and had been designed to maintain the lines of the coupe with the roof in place. When stowed, the roof sits beneath a newly-designed tonneau cover.

The Volante offers more than just striking style though with Aston Martin's 6.0 litre V12 engine capable of 380 kW (510 bhp) and 570 Nm (420 ft-lb) of torque. Should the need take you, the DBS Volante can reach a top speed of 307 km/h and will sprint from rest to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

Drive is channeled through a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed 'Touchtronic' gearboxes. Keeping  the DBS Volante glued to the tarmac are 8.5 x 20-inch wheels at the front and truly massive 11 x 20-inch rears wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Weight-saving measures include a bonnet, boot lid and front guards fashioned from carbon fibre, while braking is provided by carbon ceramic discs which are 12.5 kilograms lighter than traditional rotors.

Inside the DBS features electrically-adjustable leather trimmed sports seats, carbon-fibre door trims and a 13-speaker Bang and Olufsen BeoSound audio system. Aston Martin is keeping mum about pricing details which are due to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show.
