Aston Martin Releases Teaser Pic of £1million One-77

Showcasing its new-found verve after being offloaded by Ford to a consortium of businessmen led by Prodrive chairman David Richards, Aston Martin has released the first picture of its all-new performance flagship, the One-77.

Built around a carbon-fibre chassis and clothed with Aston's metal of choice, aluminium, the One-77 will top the British automaker's line-up with an estimated sticker price of around £1,000,000. That's a lot of dough, but with its 7-litre V12, hand-built coachwork and uber-car exclusivity (just 77 will be built - hence the name), the One-77 should have no trouble catching the attention (and wallets) of cashed-up petrolheads.

Performance numbers are still shrouded in mystery, however Internet scuttlebutt suggest the One-77's V12 should be capable of pushing its lightweight frame from 0-96kph in just 3.5 seconds, while top speed is speculated to be around the 360kph mark. 

It's hard to discern the finer details of the One-77's exterior design from the side profile released by Aston, but the long, flat bonnet, wide haunches, tail light treatment and classic fastback shape suggests that a good amount of Aston DNA has been carried over from the DB9, DBS and V8 Vantage. That huuuge heat extraction vent just behind the front wheels implies that there's plenty of performance (and temperature) being generated under that aluminium nose, while those mammoth wheels look like they could accommodate a hefty brake package.

The Aston Martin One-77 is expected to debut later this year (most likely at the Paris Motor Show in October), with sales beginning shortly thereafter.
