After spending the day sitting in front of a computer, I can’t help but envy guys like the ones in the picture above. The sort who spend the day hanging out with an Aston Martin LM P1 prototype race car. The shriek of the engine, the smell of oil, rubber and unburnt fuel at a track, hmmm....

Anyway, these chaps were out testing Aston’s Le Mans 24 Hour contender at Prodrive’s proving ground outside of Warwick in the UK. They will really need to concentrate on the task at hand if the LM P1 is going to have any chance of beating Audi’s all conquering R10 TDI and Peugeot's 908 HDi V12.

The Aston Martin LM P1 features a Lola chassis and is powered by an Aston V12 - which should see it squarely in the running if they can make it as reliable as the diesel competition.
