There will be one last Aston Martin Vanquish S supercar built at Aston?s historic Newport Pagnell factory on the 19th of July before the doors to the historic manufacturing plant are closed for good.
The Newport Pagnell facility has been the spiritual home of Aston since 1954 but production moved in 2003 when Ford combined the manufacture of its Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston luxury brands into one location at the more modern Gaydon facility.
The largely hand-built Vanquish was until now the only Aston being manufactured at the Newport Pagnell plant. It is believed that much of the Newport Pagnell location will be sold off to developers with a portion being retained as a service and restoration centre. Thankfully, Aston Martin the brand is alive and well but it is certainly the end of another era.
