Animal House Racing Working On R35 GT-R Gear Sets

For R35 GT-R owners looking to avoid reported issues with warranty claims and the usage of launch control, Animal House Racing is busily working away on a strengthened gear-set for Nissan's GR6 gearbox. The new gear-set upgrades are certain to be a welcome addition to the rapidly expanding after-market parts catalogue.

US-based Animal House Racing will be providing three gearbox upgrade options, to cater for all needs and budgets. The basic gear-set upgrade is designed to strengthen the GR6's internals and help avoid some of the costly gearbox failures that are being reported by owners (apparently from using launch control excessively).

From there, owners can opt for the gear-set and new clutches, or the gear-set, clutches and ceramic transmission bearings. The transmission bearings are said to improve acceleration and output.  They can be coupled with ceramic wheel bearings and intake gaskets for maximum effect.

Pricing and availability information has not been released just yet, but we do know that the parts will be offered on an exchange basis, so expect to be without your ride for a short period during the changeover. With rumours suggesting Nissan's GR6 could be the GT-R's achillies heel, a strengthened gear-set and some new clutches may be just what the doctor ordered to keep your GT-R on the road and track.
