All eyes on the Fiat 500 at its UK launch

Scheduled for its Australian launch in February at the Melbourne International Motor Show the Fiat 500 is reaping accolades around the world, including European Car of the Year for 2008. The Fiat 500 will also be the feature car in this years Celebrity Challenge at the Australian F1 GP, where we will get to see it dinged and dented by ham fisted celebrities.

Not to be outdone by one of the colonies, the London Eye, a 135 metre high Ferris Wheel has been chosen as the launch platform for the UK launch of the 500.

The first British Fiat 500s will be making their debut in the London Eye exactly 500 hours into the New Year as part of special party to mark the launch, with live bands, celebrities, a light show and star presenters, starting 8.00 pm on January 21 2008 and they will join the 3.5 million people who take a ‘flight’ in the London Eye every year.

Normally each of the 32 capsules on the London Eye carry 25 people, but for the launch each one will contain a Fiat 500, providing London with a unique view of the Fiat 500 as they circulate more the 135 metres above the River Thames!

Thats one launch that will be hard to top!
