IF YOU HAPPEN to have a penchant for ultra-rare and ultra-expensive automobiles, then at any point in time Pagani should rank highly on your shopping list. The only problem is, how do you out-do your neighbour’s Zonda Cinque supercar?

If one of the five fixed-roof Cinques escaped your grasp then prepare your chequebook: Pagani is preparing to build a Cinque Roadster.

Following in the Cinque’s tyre-prints, only five Roadsters will be available, sharing everything (except the roof) with the coupe version.

For €1.3 million (AU$2.3 million) you can enjoy the pleasure of 505kW and 780Nm of torque produced by an AMG built V12 engine and fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission. The 0-100km sprint will suck your face off, taking just 3.4 seconds.

And you wanta stop? Pulling up from 100km to zero takes just 2.1 seconds - courtesy of six-piston front and four-piston rear callipers clamping 380mm carbon-ceramic rotors all-round.

The entire package weighs in at a lithe 1210kg thanks to exotic materials throughout: a carbon-titanium monocoque structure, magnesium and titanium suspension and aluminium and magnesium rims (measuring 9x19 inches at the front and a massive 12.5x20 inches on the rear).

Of course, if sales follow the pattern of previous extremely-limited editions from Zonda, expect the Cinque Roadster to be sold out by the time you’ve finished reading this sentence.
