Jeep reveals details of its new Toyota RAV4 rival.

The American brand will launch its new Compass range from December, buyers will be able to choose from four trim levels and either two- or four-wheel drive.

An entry-level Sport model kicks off lineup, and is powered by a 129kW 2.4-litre petrol engine and offered with the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. It will also come standard in front-wheel drive specification.

Standard gear includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a reversing camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system that is accessed via a 5.0-inch touchscreen.

Next up the ladder is the Longitude, which is powered by the same 2.4-litre petrol engine as the Sport and is also front-wheel drive only, but comes standard with the automatic gearbox.

Increased standard equipment over the Sport includes roof rails, auto headlights, fog and cornering lights, LED ambient interior lighting, passenger seat storage cushion and privacy glass.
