Porsche has updated its Cayenne SUV for the 2017 model-year, bringing new standard equipment accompanied with price-rises across the board.

New features include standard Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a seven-inch touchscreen in all Cayenne models, with satellite navigation and voice commands.

PCM is now standard on all Cayennes worldwide, but Porsche Australia has also added digital radios to variants offered locally, along with 14-way electric seats and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). These features were previously optional in some models.

Still on the options list is Porsche Connect Plus, which brings Apply CarPlay via USB connection for $590.

Porsche’s other SUV, the Macan, will also come in for some attention in 2017 with the carmaker announcing a new 2.0 litre, in-line four-cylinder turbo -powered model is on its way to Australia.

The turbo-four powerplant offers up 185kW and 370Nm, to be fitted to a new entry-level model in the Macan range.

As the lowest-spec model, the new Macan variant is also the lightest at 1770kg with fuel consumption under European testing rated at a best figure of 7.2 l/100km.

Porsche says demand for its existing Macan models in Australia is high, forcing a delay on the new four-cylinder model until sometime next year.

With the long lead-in time, pricing and local specifications for the new entry-level Macan in Australia may not be confirmed for some time.

Otherwise, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne is available to order from this month, with first deliveries expected in Q3 of this year.
