Volvo has added a pair of fuel-sipping DRIVe variants to its overseas S60 sedan and V60 wagon line-up, bringing ultra-efficient engines and fuel-saving technologies.

Both models are powered by the same 1.6 litre turbodiesel engine powering the Australian-market C30 DRIVe. Fuel consumption for the S60 DRIVe is listed at 4.3 l/100km, while the wagon returns 4.5 l/100km.

Carbon emissions are down also, with the S60 DRIVe releasing just 114g/km of CO2, and 119g/km for the V60 wagon. Volvo's Stop/start system is featured with both variants.

The S60 DRIVe and V60 DRIVe will enter production this month, with European deliveries scheduled for April.

Speaking with TMR today,  Volvo Australia's Laurissa Mirabelli confirmed that both models are under consideration for Australia, but that it is too early to confirm a launch at this stage.
