Following countless spy photos and the unveiling last week of its sedan and wagon counterparts, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe has appeared online ahead of its Detroit debut this week.
These official images, scooped by German magazine Autobild, offer the first uncamouflaged glimpse of the new coupe. What is clear is that while its front and rear styling is identical to the sedan - as with the BMW 3 Series line-up - the sleek lines of the coupe make it the sportiest offering in the new C-Class family.
Technical details have yet to be released, although it is likely that the new C-Class Coupe will feature the same engine and specification options as the sedan range - including the 225kW/360Nm six-cylinder petrol engine of the C 350.
Of course, an AMG variant is likely to join the range, giving Mercedes a true M3 Coupe fighter. Expect AMG's new 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8 to feature, already shown to offer some 400kW and 800Nm of torque.
