BMW is set to unveil a new concept at Paris later this month, this time in the form of a production-ready concept directly previewing the upcoming 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe.

If you're feeling overcome with a strong sense of déjà vu right now, don't be surprised. But for its more softly-styled front bumper and the absence of rear doors, the 6 Series Coupe Concept pictured here is almost identical to April's Gran Coupe Concept.

BMW has yet to reveal any technical details for the 6 Series Coupe Concept. It has been known for some time however (thanks to spy photos and the motorshow debut of the Gran Coupe Concept) that the look of the new 6 Series would mark a significant departure from the styling of the previous generation.

Inside the 6 Series Coupe, BMW has put all of the focus on the driver, with the dash, centre stack and centre console all directed toward the pilot's chair.

Among its powertrain options, the next generation 6 Series is expected to be offered with BMW's new N55 single-turbo inline-six petrol engine. The M6 is likely to draw power from the same 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 powering the X5 M and X6 M, developing more than 415kW and 650Nm of torque.

The Gran Coupe too is expected to get a production future. BMW Product Development boss Klaus Draeger reportedly confirming last month that the stylish concept will launch as part of the normally coupe-only 6 Series family.
