With the unveiling of the production-ready 2011 Volvo S60 in February, Volvo has recently been spied testing the new model's wagon variant, which Volvo has confirmed will be known as the V60 when it launches.

Using the new official S60 images and these new spy photos for inspiration, our designers have put together the best look yet at how the new wagon might appear (top and below).

Wearing the bold lines of Volvo's new family styling, the V60 would likely feature the same engine options as the S60 sedan, including the updated 3.0 litre T6 petrol engine, producing 224kW and 440Nm of torque.

Looking to take a larger slice of the prestige market, Volvo will likely aim the V60 at the likes of the BMW 3 Series Touring, Audi A4 Avant and Mercedes-Benz C-Class estate.

With the test car wrapped so completely in heavy cladding, it seems likely that a production-ready wagon lies beneath the armour-like camouflage. If this is the case, a mid to late 2011 launch could be on the cards.
