SPIED ONLY LAST month during cold-weather testing, the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg is expected to make its official debut later this year.
As happens all too often in the internet age however, VW has been beaten to the punch by leaked images - this time in the form of an advertisement for a 2011 Touareg scale model.
Assuming the leaked images are legitimate and accurate replicas of the new Touareg, first impressions suggest little has changed. The new corporate face is there, but, from the headlights back, there are few changes to the second generation Touareg.
The shape of the rear door's shut line however, the more-rounded curves of the rear quarter window and the protruding tail all confirm that, while subtle in its differences, this is definitely an all-new Touareg.
Earlier reports suggested the new model would be slightly smaller than the outgoing first generation, and while it is difficult to discern from these images, the rear door and quarter window do appear shorter.
