ONLY A DAY after MINI announced it would unveil its newest model next month, company images for the 2011 MINI Countryman (or Crossover) have leaked online.

While the official name and details remain unknown, the new MINI wears only a Cooper S badge on its tailgate. An 'ALL4' badge on the front doors hints at the rumoured all-wheel-drive system expected to be offered.

Among its unique features, the Countryman/Crossover wears the new headlight style previewed by the Beachcomber concept (a style that could make its way to other MINI models) as well as a new grille treatment.

Despite being previewed as far back as September 2008 when MINI announced it would show a new Crossover concept at Paris, the final production model bears little resemblance to that original concept - except for its higher riding position.

Where the Crossover concept was a three-door model barely separated from the styling of its smaller siblings, the 'Countryman' is a longer five-door model with subtle yet markedly-different styling features all round.

Now that we've seen it, we'll need to wait until February 7 for the full details and the new model's elusive name.
