2011 Lexus IS F On Sale In Australia

Following its unveiling at October's Australian International Motor Show, Lexus has announced local availability for its hero car (at least in the consumer realm), the updated-for-2011 IS F.

Mechanically, the updated IS F remains largely unchanged, although its 311kW/505Nm 5.0 litre V8 engine has been tweaked to meet Europe's strict Euro V emissions regulations.

The 0-100km/h sprint is covered in the same 4.8 seconds as before, while top speed remains 270km/h. 

On the styling front, the IS F adopts the IS range's updated headlights with LED daytime running lights, along with a new colour choice dubbed 'Starlight Black GF'.

Inside, the flagship in the IS range gets an all-new rev-focused instrument cluster. Where the outgoing model saw the tachometer and speedometer sharing an equal focus, the 2011 model takes a supercar-like approach, giving the tachometer pride-of-place in the centre of the instrument cluster.

The rev indicator illuminates in three steps - at 500 rpm, at 5500rpm and at 6200-6550rpm, depending on the gear step.

The front seats of the 2011 IS F have come in for a slight comfort and support update, while the white stitching of the outgoing model has been replaced with the hero blue colour of the IS F.

The updated IS F also gains new dark carbon-fibre centre-console inserts, and a new orange- and black- leather seating option.

The 2011 Lexus IS F is available now. Prices remain unchanged at $126,800 (Manufacturer's List Price).
