To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Jaguar has announced Australian pricing and availability for the 2010 Jaguar XKR Special Edition, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. Ten examples will make their way to Australia, each finished in the Polaris white shown at launch.

Thanks to an updated ECU and recalibrated transmission, the Special Edition boosts the regular XKR's top speed from 250km/h to an electronically-limited 280km/h.

The Special Edition XKR also features bold-coloured skirts and rear diffuser, along with a front bib spoiler and larger rear spoiler.

A stealthy gloss black finish is applied to the window surrounds and front grilles. There is also race-style 'XKR' decals applied to the lower sides.

Red brake calipers with Jaguar's R logo sit behind the XKR's 20-inch Kalimnos alloy wheels.

Inside, there's soft-grain warm charcoal leather with cranberry contrast stitch, 16-way heated and cooled seats, jet suedecloth headlining, premium mats,  piano-black veneer on the fascia and a Bowers & Wilkins premium audo system.

The XKR Special Edition will be fitted with the tyre repair Instant Mobility System (IMS). Adopting IMS frees up the car's 30-litre spare wheel well, which is now carpeted and can hold a specially-designed and tailored XK accessory suitcase.

Pricing and Availability

The Recommended Retail Price of the XKR Special Edition will be $272,000 plus on-road costs - an increase of $17,000 over the price of the standard XKR Coupe.

The Special Edition can be ordered now, with deliveries beginning in October.
