Honda's range-wide overhaul continues this week with the unveiling in Japan of the 2011 Honda Jazz. The launch of the updated Jazz follows the Paris debut earlier this month of its eco-conscious cousin, the 2011 Jazz Hybrid.

The updated-for-2011 Jazz, sold as the Fit in Japan, gets a facelift similar to the bodywork of the Jazz hybrid and inspired by the upcoming Honda Insight (expected to launch in Australia later next month).

Among the updates for 2011, the new Jazz gets revised styling front and back, designed to reduce air resistance and improve fuel economy.

The Jazz RS - a Japan-specific model - gains a sportier exterior and interior design, including black and orange seating trim and a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel.

The RS also benefits from sports-tuned suspension, a sports exhaust system, six-speed manual transmission (a first for the Jazz) and paddle shifters for the CVT automatic-equipped variant.

Engine options remain unchanged, the Jazz line-up utilising the same 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine producing 88kW and 145Nm of torque. Fuel consumption figures have not been revealed.

A local debut for the updated Jazz has yet to be announced; Honda Australia has been contacted for comment (we'll keep you posted).
