Only a few days after new information surfaced on the 2010 Ford Focus RS, UK magazine AutoExpress has revealed concept art of what it believes is the next generation Ford Focus.

While the concept shown is, obviously, the sportier three-door version, it’s clear this Focus would be a stunning, fast-looking hatch regardless of the number of doors adorning it.  Not unlike the Astra, and if this concept is accurate, the three-door model will likely feature a sharper roof line than its five-door sibling.

Drawing inspiration in part from the new Ford Fiesta – more in the low-slung grille and fastback body-style than in the somewhat tamer (though stylish) headlights – this Focus continues the theme of the smaller Fiesta.

This new family styling extends through to the high, steeply raked belt line and prominent wheel arches, while huge rims add the usual concept flare.

AutoExpress speculates further, describing the dashboard and interior as featuring material-quality even higher than the current Focus, and an iDrive-like system similar to that found in BMW cars.

Power is believed to come courtesy of Ford’s new turbo-charged direct-injection EcoBoost range.  Base models would see a 1.0 litre engine with either 66kW (89hp) or 81kW (108hp), and a 2.0 litre with 125kW (168hp) or 147kW (197hp) options.
