WITH ONLY ONE week until the 2010 Detroit Auto Show opens in the US, Cadillac has revealed a collection of images and details for the upcoming 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

Powered by the same 415kW supercharged 6.2 litre V8 driving the CTS-V Sedan and packing 747Nm of torque, the CTS-V Coupe is expected to hit 96km/h (60mph) in a mere 3.9 seconds.

Under the skin, the CTS-V Coupe is mechanically identical to its Sedan sibling, with only a one-inch-wider rear track separating the Coupe from the Sedan.

While Cadillac hasn't offered specific numbers, the CTS-V Coupe is claimed to be marginally lighter than the Sedan version.

As with the Sedan, the CTS-V Coupe benefits from GM's Magnetic Ride Control system, which features 'Tour' and 'Sport' modes.

Nineteen-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tyres feature at each corner, in front of Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear.

Optional extras include Recaro sports front seats with 14-way power adjustment, GPS navigation and pop-up LCD screen, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a 40gb hard drive for movies, music and navigation maps.

While an Australian debut for the Cadillac brand remains unlikely, the CTS-V Coupe is expected to hit US showrooms later this year. GM has not yet announced pricing, but a figure north of AU$65,000 is expected.
