Following its international reveal in February last year, the hi-po Audi TT RS has at last been blessed with the company's seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic automatic transmission.

The TT RS has been available in Australia since last December, available at this stage with Audi's six-speed manual transmission only.

Equipped with the S tronic system, the TT RS Coupe lists fuel consumption figures of 8.5 l/100km on the European combined cycle, bettering the manual's 9.2 l/100km.

Power is provided by the same 2.5 litre five-cylinder TFSI engine, producing 250kW and 450Nm of torque.

In S tronic auto form, the TT RS Coupe flies to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds, again bettering the 4.6 seconds of the manual Coupe.

Announced this week, the automatic transmission's debut in the TT RS Coupe and Roadster has so far been announced for European markets only.

Speaking with TMR this week, Audi Australia's Nadine Giusti confirmed that a local debut for the quick-shifting auto has yet to be confirmed.
