ALONG WITH new engines for the Q7 SUV and the sporty TT Coupe and Roadster, Audi has revealed a number of modest styling updates for its A3 small car.
On the styling front, the 2011 model-year Audi A3 gets a gloss black finish to the single-frame grille and B-pillar trim, while the side vents in the front bumper get lashings of chrome. The side mirrors have been subtly updated, and the door handles now feature a small chrome strip along the top edge.
A new faux diffuser features in the rear bumper, while the three-door model gets tinted tail lights. The wheel range has been updated with new spoke designs, and four new paint choices have been added: Volcano Red, Dakota Grey, Amethyst Grey and Scuba Blue (pictured).
Updates in the cabin are even more limited, with a new grey background added to the instruments, Audi's flat-bottomed leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, a redesigned shifter for the S tronic transmission, black-ringed air vents and piano-black trim to the navigation console.
Engine choices are unchanged, although Audi revealed a new 1.2 litre petrol A3 at Frankfurt last year, delivering 78kW and 175Nm of torque. Local specification and arrival dates for the updated A3 remain to be confirmed.
