AUDI HAS RELEASED a new teaser image and a pair of videos to promote the upcoming Audi A1 ahead of its 2010 Geneva Motor Show unveiling.
Along with the graffiti-styled illustration, Audi has released a pair of videos featuring the diminutive hatch's lead designers Dany Garand and Stefan Sielaff discussing the various aspects of the A1's styling requirements.
"Our goal with the A1 is a bold one: to repeat the success that we have enjoyed with the A3 in the compact segment," Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi said.
"With the A1 we're opening another door into the world of premium cars."
While Audi remains mum on the A1's specific details, it is believed the new model will maintain much of the styling elements featured in the Metroproject and A1 Sportback concepts.
According to a recent report by the UK?s evo magazine, Audi will offer only a ?premium? A1 line-up, avoiding ?budget? entry-level models.
Mechnically, the A1 is expected to share much of its components with the new Volkswagen Polo 5, though specific technical details have not been revealed.
Audi is also expected to leave any reference to the A1?s engine capacity off the car?s badging (previous models have worn ?1.8T?, ?2.0T? style badges).
With future models dropping in engine size, Audi reportedly believes customers will not want to advertise the fact.
The A1 is expected to debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, before going on sale late next year in Europe.
