Aston Martin has revealed details and images for the updated-for-2011 Aston Martin DB9 and DB9 Volante, bringing a number of modest styling tweaks and a new damping system.

On the styling front, the face of the updated DB9 gets a new bumper with a restyled lower grille, along with a subtly reworked grille and headlight bezels. There are also reshaped side skirts, silver brake calipers, clear brake lenses and 20-inch 'diamond turned' alloy wheels.

While the DB9's 350kW/600Nm 6.0 litre V12 carries over unchanged, the 2011 model gets a new adaptive damping system similar to the type already doing duty in the DBS and Rapide. So effective is the new damping system that Aston has removed the Sports Pack from the DB9's options list.

Inside, there's a reworked Bluetooth hands-free system, a tyre-pressure monitor, new Bang & Olufsen audio options and a 'Double Apex' trim option.

The updated DB9 goes on sale in Europe from next month; Australian details remain unclear at this stage.

As Aston continues its timeless design language, recent spy photos suggest that the DBS coming next year will bear at least one significant styling difference, in the form of the slimmer headlights seen on the latest test car.
