THE NEW GOLF'S "happier" front styling is certainly winning friends, and Volkswagen is apparently keen on making it the new family face for the rest of its lineup.

That includes the Caddy, VW's Golf/Touran-based small van, which was recently snapped by our spy photographers wearing this nose-masking camouflage.

The blacked-out headlight housings and different reflector shapes indicate something more Golf-like is in the works for the Caddy's front lights, and the wider horizontal slats in the upper grille suggests the same.

Sheetmetal from the A-pillar rearwards is undisguised and appears to be identical to that of the current model, so the only external changes will be occurring at the front of the car.

However, whether the new Caddy will make use of the Golf VI's smaller and thrifter petrol and diesel engine line-up and ultra-efficient seven-speed DSG transmission remains to be seen.
