New model-specific front bumper designs are the most obvious updates for the 2010 model year, while a wider grille and trapezoidal lower intake freshens up the Aurion's face.
Chrome-framed foglamp recesses also feature on the Prodigy, Sportivo and Presara variants; headlamp and tail-lamp lenses are also new for 2010.
The low-beam lenses have also been revised to improve light distribution, enhancing night-time visibility.
Chrome trim surrounds the window frames, while the side indicators are mirror mounted for a more upmarket look.
Down the side of the updated Aurion, Toyota has removed the body-side mouldings, leaving a cleaner and less complicated look.
Ten-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels are now standard on the base Aurion AT-X, while the rest of the range get new alloy wheel designs - the Sportivo SX6 and ZR6 gaining 17-inch split five-spoke rims.
Inside, the Aurion's instrument panel is upgraded for better clarity and all models now feature illuminated vanity mirrors.
Except for new colour combinations, the 2010 Aurion's interior trim and design remains largely unchanged, although the Prodigy and Presara models gain a new linear satin woodgrain finish for 2010.
The Aurion shares much of its interior with the Camry, including the front seats and door trims. Aurion makes a point of difference though with its own centre console and dash cap.
Interior space is plentiful front and back, and while headroom in the cabin is smaller than the Aurion's direct competitors, legroom and shoulder space is more than adequate.
Bluetooth phone integration and an auxillary audio input are also standard features across the Aurion range.
The Sportivo SX6 now gets dual-zone climate control and Sportivo-branded scuff plates, while the more luxurious ZR6 model benefits from heated wing mirrors, a memory function for the driver's seat and an optional eight-speaker sat-nav/audio system.
Both Sportivo models also feature a 4.3-inch colour LCD screen, six-CD stacker, USB input for iPods and other music players and a reverse camera capability - gadgets which are also fitted to the mid-range Aurion Prodigy.
Two more speakers have been added to the Presara's AVN satellite navigation system, bringing the total speaker count to eight. The Prodigy now boasts a power rear sunshade, electro-chromatic auto-dimming rear vision mirror and rain-sensing wipers.
The Aurion Prodigy gains an electro-chromatic interior mirror, power rear sunshade and rain-sensing wipers, while the Sportivo ZR6 gets heated exterior mirrors and auto-tilt exterior mirror on reverse.
Safety features include six SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.
Mechanically, the Aurion range is unchanged from the 2009 model. The same 3.5 litre dual-VVT-i V6 is fitted up front, producing 200kW at 6200rpm and 336Nm of torque at 4700rpm. Fuel economy across the range is still a claimed 9.9 l/100km.
All grades of the Aurion are fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission, featuring a sports-style sequential shift mode.
Braking is handled by 296mm ventilated front discs and 286mm rear discs. The Aurion's suspension package includes front MacPherson struts and a dual-link strut independent rear.
