OFFICIAL PRE-LAUNCH IMAGES of the 2010 Suzuki GSX-R125 have made their way online today, revealing styling updates that bring the little sports bike in line with its higher-capacity supersports siblings, such as the GSX-R1000.

The current generation GSX-R125 is not offered in Australia, but with Yamaha announcing the local launch of the 2009 YZF-R125 earlier this week, a domestic debut for the 2010 baby 'Gixxer' may not be out of the question.

There are no official details available for the new GSX-R125, although - from what can be seen - an extruded and cast aluminium beam frame appears to form the basis of the chassis.

It is possible, however, that it is merely a steel frame styled to look like the more advanced frames of its larger siblings - not unlike the pressed-steel chassis of the YZF-R125.

An all-new water-cooled engine appears likely, with the engine visible in the photos, although largely obscured, looking much like Suzuki's other 125cc mills.

With the addition of water-cooling to the system, output is expected to be around 12kW (the European limit for learner riders) - in line with the bike's competitors.

Like its peers, the GSX-R125 is expected to feature simple non-adjustable suspension front and rear, joined by two-pot single-disc brakes at both ends.

Watch this space for more official technical and launch details as it becomes available.
