Suzuki Australia has announced availability of the 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara Urban, a new specification grade targeted to city buyers.

Priced at $31,990 drive-away, the Grand Vitara Urban is based on the entry-level five-door model (itself $30,990 plus on-road costs) but adds Bluetooth hands-free technology, rear park assist and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Suzuki Australia boss Tony Devers said that while the Grand Vitara has "always been recognised for its off-road ability," it's equally comfortable in urban settings.

Suzuki invented the compact SUV segment and we know that our customers appreciate the space and grace that can be found in every Grand Vitara model," Devers said.

“The Grand Vitara Urban takes all those attributes and adds the convenience of Bluetooth and rear parking assist – features we know customers look for in a city car that combines the best of both worlds”.

Similar in operation to most in-car Bluetooth systems, the Grand Vitara Urban kit allows multiple Bluetooth-enabled phones to automatically connect, integrating with the existing Suzuki audio system.

As with the entry-level five-door Grand Vitara, the Urban is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine producing 122kW and 225Nm of torque. Fuel consumption is listed at 9.9 l/100km for the automatic model and 8.9 l/100km with the manual transmission.
