SKODA AUTO HAS begun rolling the estate version of the well-received Superb off its production line in the Czech Republic.
The Superb Estate forgoes the Superb's innovative TwinDoor rear hatch system, replacing it with a capacious wagon rear end.
The Estate can accommodate 633 litres of cargo with its rear seats up - 68 litres more than the hatch - and a huge 1865 litres with the rear seats folded down.
A power-operated tailgate is an option, and the Estate's longer roof means a panoramic sunroof is available. Features like the Superb hatch's auto-parking Park Assist system will carry over.
Engine specifications for the European market mirror those of the hatch, meaning a range of three thrifty diesels and three petrol engines are offered. The 191kW AWD V6 3.6 FSI variant will be the flagship model in the Estate range.
A Skoda Australia spokesperson told TMR that the Superb Estate is slated to arrive in local showrooms in the second quarter of next year, however specification and pricing won't be announced until it launches.
