Navman has announced a trio of new models in its MY series of GPS navigation units, dubbed MY60T, MY65T and MY75T.

A number of advanced features set the new MY Series apart from its predecessor range, including My Drive and Smart Route - two applications that learn driver habits and monitor past traffic histories along a specific route, leading to more accurate prediction of arrival times.

The Smart Route system also utilises the SUNA Live Traffic service to plot the best route, factoring current traffic numbers into the options.

Tones and chimes have also been replaced with Spoken Safety Alerts, saving drivers from the need to remember the difference between tones for school zones and nearby speed cameras.

Other new features include Driver Fatigue Alert, an alert that flashes on the screen if the driver has been behind the wheel for more than two hours continously.

There are also 25 Lonely Planet scenic tours pre-loaded with the MY75T, and according to Navman Marketing Director Wendy Hammond, it's features like this that will help travellers make the most of their holidays.

“We know that Australians love driving holidays - our research showed that nearly 87% of holidays involve some form of driving. Holidays are also when people most need directions - that is why we have packed even more travel features in this new range,” Ms Hammond said.

“The new MY Series looks out for drivers and gives them all the features to allow them to experience a new place like a local.”

Off-roaders get a look-in also, with the MY75T pre-loaded with 4WD tracks around Australia and over 6000 new points of interest - camping sites, fishing spots and other relevant outdoor stops.

Along with the Lonely Planet guide and the 4WD tracks, there's also an Australia WCities guide offered standard with the MY75T.

Each pack can also be purchased separately for use with the MY60T and MY65T.

Features specific to the mid-range MY65T and top-shelf MY75T models are the ability to search for accommodation, meals, services and places of interest on the go with Google and Truelocal, using a Bluetooth connection.

There are also shortcut buttons in the main menu that allows for direct access to information on the nearest petrol stations, food, parking, ATMs, hotels and motels.

All models of the Navman MY Series come with a 24-month subscription to map upgrades and a two-year warranty. The MY Series is available in retail outlets nationally from mid August.
