MITSUBISHI AUSTRALIA has added two new models to its special-edition ACTiV line-up in the form of the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander ACTiV and the 2010 Mitsubishi Pajero ACTiV.

The new limited-edition models join the Lancer ACTiV, launched in early March. As with the Lancer, the Outlander and Pajero ACTiV are based on the entry-level trim of both models, adding features over and above the standard packages.

The Outlander ACTiV, based on the Outlander LS, features 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, privacy glass and black roof rails with roof rail cross bars, along with a black front centre grille and chrome exhaust tip.

Inside, the Outlander ACTiV gains automatic air-conditioning, reverse parking sensors and Bluetooth connectivity.

Mechanically, the Outlander ACTiV remains unchanged, drawing power from Mitsubishi's 2.4 litre four-cylinder MIVEC petrol engine, producing 125kW and 226Nm of torque.

Available transmissions include a five-speed manual and a CVT (continuously variable transmission) automatic.

The Outlander ACTiV is priced from $33,990*.

2010 Mitsubishi Pajero ACTiV

The 2010 Mitsubishi Pajero ACTiV, based on the second-up GLX trim, gains sports colour-coded door handles and mirrors, roof rails, front fog lamps, integrated side steps, front mud guards, a rear spoiler and an alloy nudge bar.

In the cabin, the Pajero ACTiV features Mitsubishi's MMCS multifunction display with touch-screen satellite navigation, navigation voice command, Bluetooth connectivity and reversing camera.

Steering-mounted controls are also featured, along with an electro-chromatic mirror, driver and passenger vanity mirrors with lamps and lids, and sun-visor extensions.

Side and curtain airbags, normally an option for the GLX, are included.

As with the Outlander ACTiV, the Pajero ACTiV's mechanical package remains unchanged. Power is drawn from either Mitsubishi's 147kW/441Nm 3.2 litre diesel engine or the 184kW/329Nm 3.8 litre V6 MIVEC petrol engine.

Transmissions include a five-speed manual with the diesel, and an optional five-speed sports-mode automatic.

The Pajero ACTiV is priced from $54,290*.
