2010 Lotus Elise Club Racer Available From February

WHILE WE AWAIT the arrival of the (rumoured) new Elise in 2011, Lotus Australia is about to drop another special edition on us in the form of the 2010 Lotus Elise Club Racer.

Based on the Elise S, the Elise Club Racer weighs in at 860kg, drawing power from the same Toyota-sourced 100kW 1.8 litre four-cylinder as its S-ibling. Offered in four retro Lotus colours, the Club Racer features exclusive interior and exterior 'CR' design tweaks.

“Special editions of the award winning Elise have always proved popular with our customers around the world, and I expect the Elise Club Racer to be no different. We have taken colour schemes from our past, used on the Elite and Elan in the 1960s, and cleverly brought them up to date with a modern feel to the interior," Luke Bennett, Director of Lotus Cars

The whole design package is contemporary with a classic feel, which of course matches the peerless ride and handling of a Lotus and the convertible experience of the Elise perfectly.”

The Club Racer is available in four bespoke retro colours: Elite Yellow, Carbon Grey, Sky Blue and Old English White.

Along with the special bespoke colours and 'CR' badging, the Club Racer wears lightweight six-spoke alloy wheels, anodised to an anthracite hue and shod with Yokohama AD07 LTS tyres.

The Club Racer's seats are fitted with microfibre comfort pads, while the exterior body colour is featured as a highlight on the transmission tunnel.

The anthracite look continues in the cockpit, with the theme carrying over to the gearknob and handbrake sleeve. The CR logo embroidered on the headrest tops off the interior tweaks.

Recommended retail pricing of the Lotus Elise Club Racer is $72,990 plus dealer delivery, statutory government and on-road charges. Customers can select one of the four colour options available at no extra cost.
