That’s not all though, because, on top of that, webzine Autotimes.co.kr has photos of the Sorento during a recent reveal to the Korean press, giving the world its first proper look at the Sorento’s backside.
But wait, there’s more. Kia has also revealed a sketch of the Sorento’s interior, rounding out the overall picture nicely.
The 2010 Kia Sorento features a squared-off rear end to maximise interior capacity, moving away from the recent trend of 'fastback' styling.
The wide D-pillar is an interesting addition, and its effect on rearward vision will be one to see when press reviews begin.
The interior appears at once futuristic and ultra modern. The avocado green tone is likely to be one of a few colour options.
The steering wheel has a cutaway style across the top, but our money says that’s merely for the sake of allowing better visibility of the instrument cluster in the illustration. Expect a more traditional tiller in the production model.
Kia-world.net reports that it has heard from Kia insiders that the interior of the 2010 Kia Sorento will make use of higher quality materials, offering a more upmarket feel.
It’s believed the Sorento will seat seven occupants.
The 2010 Kia Sorento is expected to be powered by a range of engines, including Hyundai-Kia’s efficient 2.2 litre R-diesel engine. Offering 149kW (200hp), 400Nm (295lb-ft) of torque and a fuel economy of 7.1 l/100km, the new Sorento will be one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs getting around.
Other engine options will include a 2.4 litre four cylinder unit and a 3.8 litre V6, both petrol and both destined for the international market.
The 2010 Sorento has increased in length by 95mm to 4685mm, width by 35mm to 1885mm and lost 15mm off its height, down to 1710mm. Its wheelbase has shortened by 5mm, down to 2700mm.
