FOLLOWING ITS DEBUT in the European Motorcross Championships, Husqvarna has launched the 2010 X-Light TC 250 in Australia.

The flagship model in Husqvarna’s range has been completely redesigned for the 2010 model year.

The TC 250 or ‘X light’ as it has been dubbed, features a new 250cc four-stroke engine, a stronger frame and plastics and revised suspension components.

The new 250cc powerplant is 13 percent smaller physically, and at 22 kilograms, weighs 10 percent less than its predecessor.

Despite being smaller and lighter, power output has been increased and the torque curve is more linear.

The X light also features stronger, more flexible plastics with new in-mould plastic decoration graphics on the fuel tank side panels and race-number plate.

The frame has been reinforced around high stress areas for increased durability.

At the rear, Husqvarna’s engineers have shortened the swing arm by 15 mm to improve traction and handling.

Up front, the TC 250 features new 48 mm closed cartridge Kayaba forks, with friction-reducing Kashima Coat and AOS (Air-Oil-Separate) technology for a smoother ride and better feel.

Australian Husqvarna dealers are expecting to receive their limited initial allocations in early September, with further supplies expected by the end of September.

The TC 250 is priced at $10,995 plus dealer delivery.
