BMW Australia has announced a special edition version of its barnstorming M3 Coupe and Sedan models, dubbed M3 Pure.

Limited to 100 units - that's 50 of each bodystyle - the M3 Pure features 19-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels finished in an exclusive high-gloss black and wrapped in 245/35 rubber up front and 265/35 at the rear.

The bonnet air intake is finished in the same gloss black, while the BMW Individual-package kidney grille, Individual side gills and Individual exhaust tips are finished in a dark chrome.

The M3 Pure is offered in Alpine White and Black colours as standard, however customers can also select from metallic colours as cost options.

Inside, the M3 Pure Coupe and Sedan feature an anthracite cloth and black leather combination upholstery, while the headrests are trimmed in Novillo leather, embossed with the BMW M symbol.

Powertrain and mechanical features remain unchanged from the regular model, the M3 Pure driven by BMW's 309kW/400Nm V8 engine. The BMW M3 Coupe sprints to 100 km/h in 4.8 sec (4.9 sec for the Sedan), while fuel consumption for both models in the EU test cycle is 12.4 litres/100 km.

The M3 Sedan and M3 Coupé Pure Edition with manual transmission are available to order in the limited production run of 50 units each from $135,000 and $148,300 respectively. The first customer deliveries are expected early in 2011.
