FOLLOWING spy photos of the hardtop version earlier this year, these new images show that Aston Martin's upcoming Vantage update will also feature on the convertible models.

While there's nothing new about the overall lines, the V8 Vantage bonnet, lip spoiler, rear spoiler and diffuser all indicate a mule under test.

Although it is unclear which engine lies beneath the V8 Vantage bonnet, it's possible that the smaller-engined of the two Vantage models will be getting some of the V12's accoutrement in the future.

Neither of the engines are expected to get an update, with the V8 recently gaining a boost from 4.3 litres and 285kW to 4.7 litres and 315kW. The V12, introduced just last year, is unlikely to see any upgrades so soon.

Other updates reportedly include new optional diamond-turned 10-spoke forged 19-inch alloy wheels with a silver finish, along with clear tail-lights and N400 sills.

New lightweight carbon-fibre and kevlar seats are expected to join the V8 Vantage’s options list, cutting an estimated 17kg from the Aston’s 1630kg kerb weight.
