2009 Skoda Superb will be released in Oz

Skoda have chosen to release the first image of their coming 2009 Superb sedan in a brief Australian press release. Due to be unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show there is actually little officially known about the second generation Superb.

Skoda Australia suggest that their new flagship sedan will offer a generously-sized interior with a number of smart solutions and technologies.

The current model Superb is a four-door while the 2009 Superb will share a similar five-door liftback layout to the smaller Octavia. With no official confirmation regarding powerplants the likely candidates in European Superbs are Skoda’s VW based 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TSI petrol engines and the 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI diesels. In Australia we will more than likely see the larger capacity petrol and diesel engines made available.
