If you are planning on attending the upcoming Sydney Bike Show, you are in for a three-wheeled treat: the new Semi-Automatic Can-Am Spyder Roadster (SE5) will be on display. In the interests of brevity, we’ll just stick to calling it the Spyder SE5.

The Spyder SE5 is built by Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP), the same crew who manufacture Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, and Sea-Doo watercraft and sport boats. With BRP behind it, you just know that the Spyder SE5 is going to be a barrel of laughs.

The Spyder SE5 is the second model to join the line-up and features a sequential electronic five-speed transmission, which, like the sequential manual five-speed (SM5), includes a transmission based reverse. Powered by a Rotax 990 V-Twin engine, both models include Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) and a Vehicle Stability System (VSS) engineered in conjunction with Bosch, which features anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control systems.

The Can-Am Spyder SE5 Roadster is available in Full Moon Silver, Millennium Yellow and Roadster Red. If you’re interested in clearing a space in your garage for a Spyder SE5, then BRP is offering the opportunity for Sydney Bike Show attendees to test ride both Can-Am Spyder models.

Before taking a test ride, registration at the BRP/Can-Am Spyder stand is required, then as BRP says, prepare to “experience for yourself the unique 'rider-active' feel and style that has everybody talking” .
