Pack up your cloth caps and smoking pipes as Bentley is at the Melbourne Motor Show 2009. And, as if you didn't know, the modern Bentley line-up is all about curvalicious bodies, pampering luxury, brushed-aluminium and wood-grain, and spades of powerrrr.

No new unveilings from Bentley at the Motor Show today, but four stratospherically powerful and luxurious cars on show.

The Bentley Speed series represents the fastest and most powerful of Bentley's current range with the Continental GT Speed and Continental Flying Spur on display.

Both cars feature Bentley?s current flagship engine, the 6.0 litre twin-turbo W12. Developing 449 kW (600bhp) of power and 750Nm of torque from just 1700rpm, this engine has more torque on tap than the leisurely Bentley driver's right foot could ever need.

The choice then is between the two-door GT (for James May types maybe) or the practicality of the four-door saloon Flying Spur.

If you want a Continental GT on your driveway but you?re a dedicated member of the wind-in-the-hair troupe, then the Continental GTC is the answer for you. There are two examples on display at the show in Yellow and White. The convertible Continental GTC was first presented in September 2005, but introduced to the world's markets from the beginning of 2006.

The Continental GT uses the standard tune of the 6.0 litre W12 engine, producing 412 kW (552 bhp). It is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has a heady top speed of 306 kph. For the added luxury of being able to ?drop the top? on your Bentley, the cost here is $426,128.

Go on... dream a little.
