HONDA AUSTRALIA has today announced the release of new 40th Anniversary Limited Edition versions of the 2009 Civic and Accord.

Based on the 1.8 litre Civic VTi, the Civic LE gets $2000 worth of extra equipment, including 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, rear parking sensors, tailored floor mats, chrome exhaust tip and 40th anniversary badging.

The eighth-generation Civic develops 103kW from its i-VTEC engine, achieving a fuel economy rating of 6.9 l/100km and an emissions rating of 164g/km (with the manual transmission).

Vehicle Stability Assist, ABS brakes and dual front and side airbags are standard across the Civic range.

The 40th anniversary Limited Edition (LE) Civic starts at $24,990 drive-away.

The Accord LE gets $1300 worth of extras, including fog lamps, deluxe tailored floor mats, reversing sensors and Bluetooth compatibility.

The Accord is powered by a four-cylinder 2.4 litre i-VTEC engine developing 133kW and returning a fuel economy rating of 8.8 l/100km and a carbon emissions rating of 209g/km.

The Accord LE is fitted with a five-speed automatic transmission with grade logic control and steering-mounted paddle shifts. The 40th anniversary Accord is priced at $34,990 drive-away.

Only 800 units of both the Civic LE and Accord LE are available.
