2009 Ford Focus X Road Unveilled For European Markets

Ford surprised crowds at the 2009 AutoRAI show in Amsterdam when it whipped the covers of the limited edition Ford Focus X Road soft-roader.

Headed to dealerships in the Netherlands during July, The Focus X is based on the Focus Wagon and will be limited to a run of just 300 units.

The Focus soft-roader receives an all new body kit, 17-inch alloy wheels and black body-work to set it apart from its wagon origins.

The interior comes well-appointed, with standard features including rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, and sports seats above and beyond the regular list of power options.

Ford will also offer an optional 'Business Pack' which includes satellite navigation, a five-inch colour display, a USB connector and a Bluetooth phone connectivity kit including voice control.

Powering the X Road will be a 1.8 litre four-cylinder engine producing 93kW (125hp). Interestingly, the engine will run on regular unleaded or bio-ethanol, the latter quickly gaining traction in many European regions.
