Fancy the idea of spending some time with a whole bunch of vintage, classic and modern era cars, in one of Australia?s premier wine regions? If that sounds like you, then this coming weekend?s VACC Cars of the World ?Cavalcade to the Vines? should be on your list of things to do and see.

?It will be a fantastic day out for families, car enthusiasts, wine buffs and lovers of art. VACC is proud to be the official sponsor of the Cars of the World event,? said Tim O?Brien, VACC General Manager, Marketing and Communications.

One of the many unique cars taking part in the cavalcade is a 1924 Wanderer W6 (pictured), that will begin the day at VACC House in Melbourne and end it parked alongside a Racing 1924 Wanderer (which competed in the 1928 Australian Grand Prix) in Mt Eliza, the first time the two cars have ever lined up side-by-side.

Classic supercar fans also appear to be in for a treat.

?Nissan is the featured marque for the event but cars of all ages and eras will be taking part including a Lamborghini Muira SV ? the first car to be dubbed a ?supercar?,? Mr O?Brien said.

The cavalcade?s ultimate destination is Morning Star Estate in Mt Eliza, which was established in 1932 by the Franciscan order. The estate features some of the oldest vines in Victoria. For those visiting, there are 22 acres of manicured gardens and 30 acres of vines to enjoy. The century old ?Morning Star? mansion, enjoys panoramic views of Port Philip Bay stretching from the Bellarine Peninsula to Melbourne.

For the first time, the Cavalcade to the Vines? will feature an exhibition of Automotive Art, including the work of Mike Harbar, one of the best known automotive artists in Australia.

The VACC Cars of the World ?Cavalcade to the Vines? will commence at 8.30am on Sunday November 23, 2008 from VACC House, 464 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, with all participant and visitor entry fees going towards the charity, Retina Australia ? Victoria.
