A little biffo between rival auto mags Motortrend and Autoweek means that we can provide you with a comprehensive photo gallery of the new 2008 Nissan GT-R. Motortrend broke Nissan’s embargo on the GT-R images overnight by featuring the new car on the cover of their mag and Autoweek have now responded by throwing the embargo out the window and making 11 official images available.
Any qualms I had about the front-end styling of the new GT-R have no dissipated – she is a stunner. As Darcy previously reported the new GT-R’s 0-60mph (96km/h) time is said to be 3.5 seconds with the standing 400m being taken care of in around 11.7 seconds. These performance times are frankly astounding when you consider that this car is likely to be priced under $80k for the entry level model in North America.
The interior packaging is “interesting†with what appears to be an odd mix of curves making the dashboard look a little awkward in its design. The rear features speakers set into the space between the two bucket style seats making the GT-R a strict four-seater.
Most notably, the instrument panel features a 340km/h speedo which in this case is not overkill, with the GT-R having a claimed top speed of 308km/h. More information will no-doubt be coming available over the coming days in the lead-up to the GT-R’s Tokyo Motor Show unveiling. In the meantime feast your eyes on the latest images of Nissans new supercar killer.
