We’ve said it before, the Jaguar XF is exactly the car that Jaguar need to revive their flagging sales. A stunning combination of luxury car and sports saloon, it brings some character to the segment dominated by the staid (but highly capable) German offerings.

News overnight suggests that Jaguar is holding 10,000 pre-orders for their new car, prior to its UK, Europe and North American launch on March 10. A well deserved result in the opinion of TMR.

According to Automotive News, 3,000 of those pre-orders are in the U.S., the equivalent of 5 months worth of sales in that country going by last months sales figures.

Jaguar is staying tight lipped about just how many XF sales they are aiming for annually, but whispered estimates of 20,000 units would appear to be achievable and Land Rover have excess manufacturing capacity should the XF become a runaway success.

This is one car we are looking forward to seeing in the flesh. It is said that even those who have been a little dubious of the styling have changed their opinion when seeing the XF in the metal for the first time.

If your looking for a luxury saloon with style, grace, pace and plenty of character – the XF could just fit the bill better than most.
