Citroen have provided us with pictures of their all-new C5, which is set to debut in Australia in the third quarter of next year. Featuring the latest generation of Citroen’s Hydractive suspension dubbed “ Hydractive 3 Plus” , the C5 promises to deliver an extraordinary combination of ride and handling.

According to Citroen their new C5 builds on the current C5’s already solid base of technology, safety and environmental compatibility. A range of three petrol engines and four HDi diesel engines will be available along with a full compliment of gearbox choices.

The driving position, resembles an aircraft cockpit and is fully focused on the driver, featuring a second-generation fixed-centred controls steering wheel. Driving information is displayed on three dials with annular needles, inspired by the aviation world.

The Citroen C5 meets the highest standards in both active and passive safety with ESP as standard, a stiff body structure and a nine airbag package available - seven standard and two optional.

Citroen are keen to point out that their Rennes ISO 9001 certified factory has long experience in producing executive vehicles, particularly with the launch of the Citroen C6 which they believe is now attaining remarkable levels of quality. This site has made a strong commitment to sustainable development and the environment, and also holds ISO 14001 certification.

Full details of the Australian range of new Citroen C5 models and variants will be released when the car goes on sale locally in the third quarter of 2008.
