Citroen has announced that its all-new C5 will make its world debut at the 2008 Brussels International Motor Show, on the 15th of January 2008. Citroen are keen to debut their new C5 and have chosen not to wait until the Geneva show in March, the traditional show at which to launch a new European model.

However, Australian purveyors of the C5 will have to wait until after the C5’s European launch. Citroen are expecting to have the C5 on-sale in Australia during the third quarter of 2008.

Citroen have historically found it difficult to woo buyers of the more traditional German luxury marques, appealing more to the less badge conscious, quirky, "professor type” minority.

This time around, the C5 is elegant, sleek and distinguished, boasting taut and aerodynamic lines. Its also practical, with class-leading cabin space for both saloon and estate models.

According to the Australian importer, the C5 features a cockpit-style driving position, consummate quality and detailing, innovative ergonomic controls and standard-setting seat comfort.

The new C5 is fitted with the same sophisticated Hydractive 3 Plus running gear as the C6 luxo-barge which should ensure exceptional ride comfort, provided it is up to the challenge of Australia’s less than stellar roads.

Official details are thin on the ground but the new C5 will be available with a broad range of engines, safety features and leading-edge technologies.
