Only recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lamborghini’s Reventón supercar will be heading ‘down-under’ for a Sydney International Motor show appearance and although we have already covered it a quick recap is probably in order.

Based on the LP640 the Reventón takes styling cues from the Raptor jet fighter and looks for all the world like a stealth version of the LP640. The Reventón's exterior is made entirely from carbon fibre while the basics under the skin are all Murciélago LP640 – from the viscous traction AWD system to the six speed gearbox with e-gear steering wheel mounted paddles.

Output from the Reventón's 6.5-litre V12 is a massive 478kW/640hp with an equally impressive 660Nm of torque.

"Reventón is capable of astounding acceleration, reaching 100km/h from standstill in merely 3.4 seconds. With a maximum speed of over 340km/h, Reventón is a supercar in the extreme", said Lamborghini Australia managing director Andrew Smith

Lamborghini will only be producing 20 Reventón's at their Sant'Agata Bolognese factory. With a AUD1.5 million price tag future owners will be joining a rather exclusive club.
