Toyota's HiLux is a powerful and reliable twin-cab or single-cab ute/pickup, which has dominated the segment for two decades and is consistently one of Australia's top-selling cars.
It is widely respected by buyers for its dual capabilities as a tough workhorse and tow-vehicle, as well as for its family-friendly space and versatility.
It is available with both 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrains and comes in a single, double or extra cab over a wide range of models: WorkMate, SR, SR5 and Black Limited Edition.
The HiLux comes in four engine configurations: a 2.7-litre VVT petrol, 2.4 litre diesel, 2.8 litre diesel and 4.0 litre V6 petrol, as well as five-speed manual, six-speed manual and six-speed sports automatic.
Key features include driver and passenger airbags, traction control, electronic brake distribution, Bluetooth capabilities as well as cruise control and two or six-speaker stereo. Up-spec models come with a premium features list.
The 2.8 litre diesel has a 3.5 tonne tow rating for a braked trailer, 750kg, unbraked.
